Welcome to the IMU
If you want to get to the heart of Indiana University, look no farther than the Indiana Memorial Union. Since 1909, the Indiana Memorial Union (fondly referred to as “the Union”) has served as a gathering place for the IU community.
No matter who you are or why you are on the IU Bloomington campus, you’ll find something you want in the Union’s bustling hub of activity.
From that first cup of coffee in the morning to a much-needed haircut to depositing a paycheck to a healthy vegetarian lunch or a juicy burger and fries to buying your textbooks and maybe a new laptop to catching a movie or lecture to unwinding at the end of the day with few rounds of pool, the Union has the services you need.
With just one visit to the Union, you’ll find that we truly live up to our vision statement: “The Indiana Memorial Union will be known as the vibrant campus center where members of the university community feel connected, engaged, and safe.”
The IMU is the best place to have fun on campus! There’s always something happening at the IMU. Grab your friends and head to the IMU for some great fun.
The IMU opens for 24 hour service
In order to better serve the needs of the students, certain areas of the Indiana Memorial Union will be open to students 24 hours every day.
The following areas will now be open from 2:00a.m to 6:00a.m. for individuals with a valid university ID and hotel guests:
- The hotel lobby
- The Mezzanine level, extending from the Student Technology Center to the East Lounge
- The South Lounge and IMUG of the first floor
IU Outdoor Adventures has moved!
Now, you can visit IUOA in Eigenmann Hall, across from the IU Bookstore. You'll get the standard IUOA services plus more gear rentals and retail. Later this season, we'll be installing a bouldering rock wall too! Come by on Tuesday, January 19 to check out the new and improved space.

ATMs and banking at the Union
Money might not grow on trees, but at the Union, money transactions are convienent and easy. With several major ATM machines to use, and a IU Credit Union branch on site, banking at the Union is a great option for you.
