The Biddle Hotel

IU Visitor Information Center
The IU Visitor Information Center is dedicated to providing information about the IU Bloomington campus and the Bloomington community for visitors, prospective students, alumni, and community members.
The Vault Pub
The Vault Pub features a single-door entryway to the right of a fancy window on the left. The left window features a graphic logo for the pub, ornamented with a graphic lattice pattern. The flooring is gray tile. On the right, there is also an accessibility ramp into the Vault.
The Fieldhouse Basketball Court
The wood facing of the bar comes from the basketball court in the IU Fieldhouse, now know as the Bill Garrett Fieldhouse. The Hoosiers played on this floor from 1928 to 1960, including NCAA Championships in 1940 and 1953, with Big Ten Champion teams also playing in 1936, 1953, 1954, 1957, and 1958.
Sixteen All-Americans and three Big Ten Most Valuable Players played for Indiana University on this floor. This includes Bill Garrett, who, on December 4, 1948, became the first African-American to play varsity basketball for IU. He would become the first African-American to regularly start for a Big Ten team, breaking the Big Ten coaches' "gentlemen's agreement" that barred African-American basketball players.
The final game on the court was a Hoosier victory over eventual national champion Ohio State University on February 29, 1960. Among the Buckeye reserves was Bob Knight, who would later become the head coach for IU. Knight led the Hoosiers to three NCAA championships.
Centennial Patio
In honor of the IMU's centennial in 2009, the Centennial Patio was created to provide an outdoor space for the IU community to meet, relax, enjoy live entertainment, and more.
East Lounge
The IMU provides several large lobby spaces. In this view, the large, wood-paneled lobby provides several seating options with tables. On the right, a large red block letter "U" stands to provide a place for an individual to pose behind the "U" as the "I" of "IU." A planter box on the left has a sign reading "Welcome to the Heart of Campus." A few students are seated at a central table.
Women of IU Art Series
In 2013, the Women of Indiana University exhibit was installed, highlighting influential women who have made an impact on the university.
Hoosier Room
With a capacity of 16, the Hoosier Room is ideal for small meetings and conference breakout sessions.
Charter Room
The stately Charter Room features a rectangular conference table with seating for 14, making it ideal for small meetings. This room contains portraits of every Union Board director since 1909.
Distinguished Alumni Room
Featuring a rectangular conference table that seats 20, the Distinguished Alumni Room is an excellent choice for meetings. This room displays sketches of recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award.
IMU Garden
Located on the south side of the IMU, the IMU Garden is a piazza-style space that features limestone walls and lush foliage.
Dogwood Room
The Dogwood Room is a large meeting room filled with multiple rows of tables and chairs facing a speaker's podium. Behind the podium there is a large whiteboard. The room is brightly lit and the floor is carpeted.

The best place for all of your on-the-go snack needs, day or night.
Frangipani Room
The Frangipani Room has nearly 4,500 square feet of space that can be used for events ranging from meetings and banquets to performances.
IU Bookstore
The re-imagined IU Bookstore is your source for IU apparel, textbook ordering, school supplies, technology, and accessories.

Stained Glass Windows
These stained glass windows hung in the Indiana Memorial Union Commons for more than 50 years. While the windows' origins are unknown, it is believed they were installed in the Commons during the late 1950s or early 1960s. Replicas of them even appeared in the 1979 Academy Award-winning film Breaking
Away (specifically during the food fight scene set in the Union)!

IMU 7th Street Marquee Sign
This iconic sign, which hung along 7th Street at the entrance to the Union’s circle drive, was one of the most prominent identifying pieces of the Union for 45
years. The sign helped visitors find the Indiana Memorial Union and the Biddle Hotel from 1960 (when the Biddle opened) until 2005.

Memorial Room
The Memorial Room is home to the Golden Book, a bronze plaque designed by the IMU architect, and two stained glass windows from the 12th and 15th centuries.
Golden Book

The IMU's largest event space, Alumni Hall offers more than 5,000 square feet that can be configured in a variety of ways.
Webb-Ehrlich Great Organ
Installed in 2012, the Webb-Ehrlich Great Organ weighs in at over 15 tons and stands 25' high, 20' wide, and 15' deep. The 2,838 pipes with 44 stops and 51
ranks are mechanically controlled by three keyboards and the pedal keyboard. The pipes produce sounds that span the full range of human hearing and
range in length from 32' to the length of a pencil.
Union Board Office
Union Board is the largest programming board on campus who puts on concerts, films, lectures, and programs of all sizes for the IU community. Union Board
is made up of 16 students, the executive director of the IMU, a faculty member, an administration member, and an alumnus.
Federal Room

Biddle Hotel Elevator
The Biddle Hotel elevator supports accessibility to several floors of the IMU. The decor of the hallway features marble walls, ceiling light fixtures, and red carpet branded with a pattern of IU logos.
Metz Suite
Named after Arthur Metz, doctor and donor to the Memorial Fund drive in 1959. The Metz Suite is used for housing special guests, trustees, and new university presidents, as well as receptions.
Fletchall Room
