Become an expert outdoorsperson

Learn new skills and earn class credit, all while exploring the great outdoors, in SPH-W classes. Offered by the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies in the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington, SPH-W courses cover topics such as mountain biking, canoeing, rock climbing, wilderness living skills, map and compass use, and wilderness first aid.

Most SPH-W classes carry 1 credit hour, and they typically take place over a three-week period that includes three evening classroom sessions and one weekend field experience.
