FOR MINI and STANDARD CREAM PLAN HOLDERS:
You will be adding the U-BUCKS plan. There will be no changes in your RPS I-BUCKS account. Your cost will be $500 for the year; bursar billed by RPS at $ 250 each semester and you receive 100 U-BUCKS each semester.
FOR PLUS and MAX CREAM PLAN HOLDERS:
You will transfer 500 I-BUCKS to purchase the U-Bucks plan. There are no additional charges. See FAQ below, "How does the U-Bucks plan work?".
What are U-BUCKs?
U-BUCKs are elected units of currency accepted at the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues. Plan members can use their U-BUCKs to make purchases at any of the dining venues in these locations.
How do I determine if the U-BUCKs option is a good choice for me?
A few things to consider are your planned class schedule and social activity on the campus. You will find convenient dining locations and popular national brand food options all across campus.
How does the U-BUCKs plan work?
The U-Bucks plan includes an operational charge for overhead expenses, and U-BUCKs which are accepted at the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues. U-BUCKs plan holders receive a 60% discount off posted cash prices at the register.
For example, if an U-BUCKs plan holder makes a purchase at Starbucks for $5.00, 2 U-BUCKs will be deducted from their account.
U-BUCKs can be accessed by use of your University ID card. It must be presented to a cashier to make a purchase. The card will be swiped and the remaining available balance will be shown. Meal plans can be managed through online services.
Cash and credit card purchases will not receive a discount. U-BUCKs plan holders must let the cashier know they are paying with the U-BUCKs plan.
What Dining venues are in the IMU?
Starbucks, Burger King, Baja Fresh, Dunn Meadow Café, Pizza Hut, Sakura - Sushi & Hot Bowl, Cyclone Salads, Freshens Smoothies, Simply to Go, Sugar & Spice, The Tudor Room and Sycamore market.
What Dining venues are in the Cyber Café?
The Cyber Café located in the Herman B. Wells Library features Chick-Fil-A, Pizza Hut, Cyber Café Deli, Charleston Market, Sakura Sushi to Go, Starbucks We Proudly Serve and Simply to Go.
What’s the difference between U-BUCKs and I-BUCKs?
An I-BUCK is the unit of currency accepted at all of the 29 RPS locations from Cream and Crimson meal plan holders. I-BUCKs are not accepted in the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues. U-BUCKs are a unit of currency accepted at the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues.
Is there a cut-off date to choose or change the U-BUCKs plan?
You may choose to add the U-BUCKS plan at any time of the school year as long as you meet eligibility requirements. Your option for the U-BUCKS plan is determined by the RPS Meal Plan you have selected. Starting August 12ththru August 23rd, your U-BUCKS account will be activated within 36 hours of when you select the plan. After August 24ththrough December 1st(last day to make changes to 2012-13 meal plans), it will take between 5-10 business days to activate your U-BUCKS account.Last day to make changes is December 1st.
Are U-BUCKs and RPS I-BUCKs interchangeable?
These are separate plans and are not interchangeable. I-Bucks are not accepted in the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues and U-BUCKs are not accepted at the RPS dining venues.
Can I use My U-BUCKs anytime?
U-Bucks will be accepted at the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues any time the venues are open all year long with the exception of the Tudor Room. The Tudor Room accepts U-BUCKs from 1:00PM – 1:30PM Monday through Friday and Sunday brunch. The only time the Tudor Room does not accept the U-BUCKs is from 11:30AM-1:00PM. The Tudor Room will accept the U-BUCKs from 1:00PM – 1:30PM Monday through Friday at both the discounted student rate and the 60% off if you use your U-BUCKs.
Can I add additional spending value to my U-BUCKs account?
Yes, you may add value to your U-BUCKs account in $100.00 increments. At this time, the location to do this is at the IMU Dining office located on the lower level of the IMU building through the Biddle Conference Center lobby across from the personnel offices or by calling 812-855-3241. All plans include an operational charge for overhead expenses, and U-BUCKs which are accepted at the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café dining venues. U-BUCKs plan holders receive a 60% discount off posted cash prices at the register.
Do U-BUCKs rollover?
All U-BUCKs will remain available as long as the plan holder chooses the minimum U-BUCKs plan each fall semester. If a plan holder chooses not to renew the U-BUCKs plan the remaining balance will continue to be available through that fall semester.
For example, let's say Mike has 50 U-BUCKs remaining at the end of his freshman year. His 50 U-BUCKs will expire at the end of the fall semester of his sophomore year. If Mike signs up for another U-BUCKs plan, those 50 U-BUCKs will be added to the U-BUCKs amount of the chosen plan for his sophomore year.
What is the difference between Campus Access and U-BUCKs?
U-BUCKs are to be used for food and beverage purchases in the IMU and Wells Library Cyber Café Venues. Campus Access is accepted at U-BUCKs and I-BUCKs locations however will not receive the 60% discount at the register.
What if I have an IMU Meal Plan?
Previous IMU Meal Plan options will automatically transfer to U-BUCKs.
